TELL ME ABOUT YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS. WHAT ARE YOU DOING EXACTLY?

Have you ever felt stuck or confused in your business? Like you aren’t good enough to make it? Don’t you have what it takes? My job is to help women crush those thoughts, and replace them with new mindsets, and results in their business so that they see their true potential. I help women find where mindset meets strategy in business to take their income to the next level with business mentoring. I also work for a Direct Sales company, and own a product based business on the side!

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR BUSINESS IDEA?

Working in my direct sales business I created a youtube channel and started to get so many messages from women who were struggling with poor guidance from their uplines, or their uplines had quit. They felt stuck, or hopeless. I realized so many women needed coaching, or even mentoring with their business. I started to shop around for a coach for myself to learn how to manage life, business, kids, hobbies, and self-care. So many of the coaches were far beyond my budget. I wanted to create a coaching system that got amazing results quickly for women that didn’t cost them selling an organ, or sacrificing going into debt.

WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE THIS, AND IS THIS YOUR FIRST BUSINESS?

Before I started my businesses I was waitressing at night for a small family-owned restaurant, while my husband worked full time during the day. The first business I stumbled into was my direct sales company. I launched a product based business after that has a full staff now, and my mentoring business is my third, but fully owned by myself!

WHAT SPECIFIC ADVICE WOULD YOU HAVE FOR YOUNG WOMEN WHO WOULD LIKE TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR?

Don’t give up. it’s going to be hard at times, but worth it. There will be times where you want to give up but that is your chance to push through, grow as a person, and fight for what you want your future to look like. Success doesn’t come naturally to anyone, it is something we learn to achieve through hard work. Also, never be the richest person in the room. Only take advice from those you want to be like.

MY GREATEST OBSTACLE AND HOW I DEALT WITH IT:

People not believing in me. When I first started a lot of people told me I wouldn’t make it, or that you couldn’t really make it working Direct Sales. I also had severe social anxiety (diagnosed agoraphobia) and am a total introvert which led to a lack of faith in me from my closest friends. I decided not to let what other people said define me. I focused so much on reading personal development, affirmations, choosing to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. It was not an easy or overnight process, but I was dedicated. I wanted to succeed more than I wanted to lay in bed, and not work. I gave it everything I had and recruited over 50 women in one year with a $700,000 team, and personally sold over $25,000 in the product my first year as well.

MY PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:

That’s a hard one because when I see women I work with accomplish their huge stretch goals, I feel overwhelmed with joy. I would say for my business personally, grossing over 6 figures in my product based business for two months in a row. That moment for me was something that changed my reality on what you can earn in a month and my life forever.

HOW I BLEND LIFE AND WORK TO CREATE THE LIFE I WANT:

I pray. Pray a lot! I also manage my time and created a schedule, even though I am not a schedule person. I make sure I have a very specific routine in the morning to feed my mind with positivity, reading, family time, then set work hours where I am super focused (most days!) so that I can knock my work out and be with my family relaxing.

I AM INSPIRED BY:

The laughter from my children, the joy in the voices of women accomplishing their goals or getting that one thought which will change their entire career, the times where my husband gets to sit with my kids instead of working a 9-5. Those moments inspire me to dig deep, keep learning, and push harder in my business.

WHY I CHOSE THIS CAREER:

I always knew I wanted to help women, I just didn’t know how. I came from a rough life of drug addiction for 8 years. I saw so many of those around me never get out of that lifestyle, and it was one of the hardest things to watch. I realized after reaching a level of success in my business that I did not expect, that I could help those who feel like they can’t make it, that they won’t ever be “deserving” of success, that their past defines them today, or that they feel like they could never be independent or financially wealthy because they just don’t have “it”. I also found a lot of coaches I had worked with made me feel more like a number, or a check to them, not a person. I hated that and wanted to create a business that made women feel 100% cared about, proud, financially wealthy, and confident in who they are becoming daily.

HOW I PREPARE FOR SUCCESS:

Preparing for new levels of success always starts in your mind. Success is something that you have to be prepared to handle especially when you have large amounts of money coming in. I have systems in place to help me when more clients come in, more money comes in, and if it’s something I don’t feel prepared to handle, I hire someone to help me!

DID YOU WRITE A BUSINESS PLAN? WAS IT AN EFFECTIVE TOOL FOR YOU?

I didn’t write a business plan at first, but I wish I would have at the start! Once I decided to get serious about my business, I took the time to create a business plan. This allows you to always have clarity, a backbone, and a foundation that your business is built on.

ARE THERE SPECIFIC ADVANTAGES, DISADVANTAGES TO BEING A WOMEN BUSINESS OWNER?

I look for opportunity, advantages, and don’t want to work with anyone who looks at me differently because I am a woman. I don’t believe there are disadvantages. I do think we have the advantage of the fact that we tend to be very emotionally aware of what those around us are feeling.

MY FAVOURITE BUSINESS TOOL IS…

A planner! I am a huge fan of the High Achievers Playbook. I think taking control of your schedule, the time you have in a day is key to reaching the levels of success you want to achieve. This also helps you to remove the struggle of “what do I need to do today” if it’s already there.

THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN IS…

“Don’t ever take advice from someone who you wouldn’t trade places with.”
