TELL ME ABOUT YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS. WHAT ARE YOU DOING EXACTLY?

My Coaching Business. I started with my coaching-business already in 2015. But at that time, I was still coaching photographers and retouchers (image-editing). During my experience as a coach, I learned that most people did not get stuck because of their professional skills (for example taking good photos), but it was their mindset, lack of self-awareness & self-care and business-knowledge. After a while, I noticed the job as a retoucher and retouching-coach did not fulfil me. I felt empty inside, even though I looked successful on the outside with references like Elle, Glamour, Dior, etc. Also, a few years before I suffered from burnout because I was so unhappy in my job as a graphic designer. There were many struggles until I get where I am today – failure, the feeling of being empty, self-doubt, several new starts… This is why I created my coaching business.  I want to help women find the strength to be themselves and get successful by developing a healthy, vibrant routine and structure – without stress, overwhelm or self-doubt! Be free to live a life they dream about and find their happiness by trusting their inner voice and showing up truly authentic!

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR BUSINESS IDEA?

I came up with both business ideas because of my personal needs and experience. The company my boyfriend and I created exists today because I was really struggling to launch my online-courses with more ease and less technical stuff. All I wanted to be being able to create an amazing online-training-platform without any technical obstacles and it should still look great. So, luckily my boyfriend is a web-developer and programmed the membership-area for me. I knew there are coaches out there like me, so we decided to offer it as a service!

WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE THIS, AND IS THIS YOUR FIRST BUSINESS?

As you have already discovered now, I am running two businesses and before I had another business as an international retoucher and retouching-coach. Before this, I was working as a makeup artist and graphic designer in Germany and Malta. For example, I worked with MAC, on campaigns for the beauty-industry like Syoss and Gliss or BMW.

WHAT SPECIFIC ADVICE WOULD YOU HAVE FOR YOUNG WOMEN WHO WOULD LIKE TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR?

Start before you feel ready and don’t let anyone stop you from working on your dreams. Don’t be afraid to have a side-job that helps you to get a stable income to cover your monthly fees and only spend money on stuff you REALLY need. For example, if you want to have an online-business move somewhere, where the costs of living are low. Don’t be afraid to move away from a city or switch countries. Don’t shop too much for shoes or fancy fashion accessories and makeup or go partying. Invest in yourself and your business. This means saving everything for stuff that’s really necessary to build your dream life. Trust me, if you really want some fancy stuff you can buy it once you signed up your first clients and are self-employed full-time. On the other hand, don’t forget to make space for yourself and your own needs. This means, structuring your day and work efficiently. For example, you can build your business with just working 4 hours a day and then in the afternoon go out for a yoga session, meet your friends and post on social media. Work on your mindset and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Having a coach and mentor by your side who went through your struggles and knows how to empower you will help you not to get burned-out and create your dream-life faster!

MY GREATEST OBSTACLE AND HOW DID YOU DEALT WITH IT:

My greatest obstacle was finding the confidence to show up truly authentic as myself and trusting in myself. I believe we constantly feel under pressure by society, role-models and advertisements we see on social media and billboards. Also, when we start being interested in creating our own business we start following highly successful entrepreneurs with a huge following. That really frustrated me at the beginning and I had to learn that it is my own choice whether I let my mind control me or whether I control my mind. I am very stubborn and I think that’s an asset when starting a business because that helped me to keep going.

MY PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:

My proudest accomplishment is living abroad with my boyfriend for several years already and creating a business together with him. It’s amazing to have a partner to share so much with and to be location-independent.

HOW I BLEND LIFE AND WORK TO CREATE THE LIFE I WANT:

I have a clear structure of how I spend my day, which gives me also a lot of freedom. Usually, I work 4 hours very focused in the morning and then spend my time in the afternoon however I like – be it with exercising or other hobbies or being creative and creating videos or podcast episodes. Also, I always block the evening for self-time and time with my partner.

I AM INSPIRED BY:

I’m inspired by people who live truly authentic, support others and protect nature.

WHY I CHOSE THIS CAREER:

I know exactly how I felt a few years ago and that inspired me to become a coach. I want to support and motivate other women to believe in themselves and create the life they want. Also, I truly enjoy being location-independent.

HOW I PREPARE FOR SUCCESS:

I just go with the flow, learn in the process, always give my best and am always myself.

DID YOU WRITE A BUSINESS PLAN? WAS IT AN EFFECTIVE TOOL FOR YOU?

I don’t see any point in writing a business plan. I find it takes too much time and in the end, things won’t work out as you wanted it to and then the business plan doesn’t help you anyway. I find it important to set some goals, get clear about the brand and the target audience, but it is also important not to overthink it and then learn in the process. Thinking about things too much will just let you stop you and this is when you start overthinking and doubting yourself.

MY FAVOURITE BUSINESS TOOL IS…

Meditation to stay focused, balanced and have a clear mind.
When it comes to an actual tool, it’s my own tool “Coachy” – the membership-area and landing-page tool because it takes a lot of work from me and saves me a lot of time.

THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN IS…

To follow my heart. Always.
