Interview With Female Entrepreneur Amena Apshori

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS. WHAT ARE YOU DOING EXACTLY?

I am a certified self-love and self-confidence coach for women who want to connect with their feminine energy and tap into their worthiness. I guide women to find their purpose, passion and to love themselves throughout the process. I use tools where I help overcome stress, anxiety, fears, mindset blocks and obstacles. Women who feel overwhelmed and who have the need to continually perform, I help by teaching them how to master their emotions. I have a Facebook group called ‘Self-love, Self-confidence and Feminine energy For Women To Embrace’ where I offer free tips and trainings.

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR BUSINESS IDEA?

For the past couple of years, I have been doing a lot of self-development and inner work by journaling, meditating and reading. It helped me to rediscover myself and I found my inner calling which is to help women who want to level up their self-esteem and self-confidence by tapping into their feminine energy. I love doing that, and it has helped me so much in my personal life, after dealing with the loss of a parent and really getting back on my feet. I was also involved in a relationship that wasn’t the best for me and ended up being a failure. I got to the point where I felt absolutely worthless. From that point, I started to uplift myself consciously and I had risen above what had torn me apart. When I went through my inner work journey, I discovered many callings, I had many spiritual awakenings and I truly connected to my heart and my passion.

WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE THIS, AND IS THIS YOUR FIRST BUSINESS?

Yes, this is my first business and I have completed my bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Science. I also work as a teacher at a school part-time and will soon be enrolling for my master’s degree.

WHAT SPECIFIC ADVICE WOULD YOU HAVE FOR YOUNG WOMEN WHO WOULD LIKE TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR?

I would say belief in yourself, be patient with the process and know that it takes time. Don’t give up. Be consistent and strive towards your goal regularly. Celebrate your small wins as it will give you a lot of momentum moving forward. Try not to overwhelm yourself. Taking messy action is far better than no action at all.

MY GREATEST OBSTACLE AND HOW DID YOU DEALT WITH IT:

My greatest obstacle was inconsistency. I struggle with balancing my business, my studies and my personal life and I got around it by creating strong boundaries and getting very intentional about my time.

MY PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:

My proudest accomplishment would be my client’s transformations and how much they learn and implement just after a single session with me. My other accomplishments include getting certified as a life coach.

HOW I BLEND LIFE AND WORK TO CREATE THE LIFE I WANT:

I have created strong boundaries. I have time for myself, family, relationships, work, school and business and I prioritize everything. I even specialized in how you can overcome being overwhelmed, so I apply that and I also have a lot of emotional mastery which helps to stay focus and to be in the present moment.

I AM INSPIRED BY:

Dr. Joe Dispenza, I watch a lot of his videos, and they have been life-changing for me.

WHY I CHOSE THIS CAREER:

When I was going through my difficult stages, I really wished for someone to help me along the way. I believe that it could have saved me a lot of pain, unnecessary overthinking, looking outside for validation and approval, people-pleasing and not feeling worthy. Now that I have done lots of inner work I feel that I can pass this on to other women and help them learn to understand their emotions and know how to have a deeper faith in themselves. I chose this career so that I can help women to learn to love and embrace themselves and it gives me immense joy to do so.

HOW I PREPARE FOR SUCCESS:

I plan out things for me to do on a regular basis and set action steps in terms of my priorities for the days. Some days I take completely off to recharge and unplug so that I can show up energetically enthusiastic for my audience. I schedule my workdays and calls to fit in with my personal life.

DID YOU WRITE A BUSINESS PLAN? WAS IT AN EFFECTIVE TOOL FOR YOU?

Yes. I wrote down a business plan, and I am always tweaking and improving based on what my audience needs and wants and how I can deliver that.

ARE THERE SPECIFIC ADVANTAGES, DISADVANTAGES TO BEING A WOMEN BUSINESS OWNER?

I think an advantage would be, that just in general women are more intuitive, so I can connect and do things in my business based on gut-level decisions and the gut is usually always right. Disadvantages would be that, I personally am not so tech-savvy, maybe men are more tech-savvy.

MY FAVOURITE BUSINESS TOOL IS…

Canva. I love creating graphics on Canva

THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN IS…

For me, it was to never give up, and I am glad I didn’t.
