HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR BUSINESS IDEA?
I worked in branding and marketing for big corporates and all sizes of businesses for 15+ years and gained valuable experience. But then I wanted to help small business owners and work with them one-on-one to be able to help them, instead of just chasing profits for faceless organisations. So I just started my setup in 2016.
WHAT WERE YOU DOING BEFORE THIS, AND IS THIS YOUR FIRST BUSINESS?
Yes, my first business. Before this, I worked in corporate marketing.
WHAT SPECIFIC ADVICE WOULD YOU HAVE FOR YOUNG WOMEN WHO WOULD LIKE TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR?
Don’t hesitate to reach for the stars. Build castles in the air; just put the foundations under them. What it means, essentially, is that go follow your dream, but just make sure you have planned things out, have implemented the practical bits necessary, and have realistic expectations. Being an entrepreneur means wearing many hats: you might have to be the accountant, marketing team, logistics, the admin, all in one day. Make sure you can cope with all aspects, and whenever necessary, don’t hesitate to ask for help.
MY GREATEST OBSTACLE AND HOW DID YOU DEALT WITH IT:
To be honest, time management has been a huge challenge, especially since my son was born in 2019. On the one hand, I was lucky to have a lot of support from my partner, to take care of our baby when I needed to work. And I also implemented small steps, like:
1. Having little to-do checklists every day 2. Using the time I had when I couldn’t work at my desk to read and learn expert blogs on my phone instead of mindlessly scrolling through social media 3. Continuously thinking of and scribbling down ideas and actionable tips for my blog:
MY PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:
Every time I help every single client achieve their goals or learn something that will help them.
HOW I BLEND LIFE AND WORK TO CREATE THE LIFE I WANT:
I set little goals every day to make sure I get things done steadily and tick items off my list. I am also a mom, and I also need to do everything for my business, so managing my time is even more essential.
I AM INSPIRED BY:
All the business owners and solopreneurs have achieved so much by essentially rolling up their sleeves and working at their goals. I always remember that if they can, so can I.
WHY I CHOSE THIS CAREER:
I truly want to help entrepreneurs, as many as I can, in whatever way they can. The light of satisfaction and happiness when they learn/ achieve something makes my day every single time.
HOW I PREPARE FOR SUCCESS:
I measure my success by the number of people I have helped. So I continuously help my clients to the point that they feel confident and meet their business goals. I also write blogs and create courses to help a much larger audience than just my clients. Sometimes I get emails or questions from my subscriber base and I answer them thoroughly. I do a lot for free, and then money keeps coming in any way when people see the value of what I have to offer.
DID YOU WRITE A BUSINESS PLAN? WAS IT AN EFFECTIVE TOOL FOR YOU?
I did what I believe every small business owner should do: have a working business plan. So layout all the details in a simple plan at the onset of your business; just a one-page one will do. And then keep improvising it and reworking it as you go about implementing their business practices. This still works for me quite a bit.
ARE THERE SPECIFIC ADVANTAGES, DISADVANTAGES TO BEING A WOMAN BUSINESS OWNER?
A lot of women tend to doubt themselves and suffer from low esteem, even when they’re highly qualified. Sometimes this gets in their way of achieving all that they can. But once they overcome these imposter syndrome challenges, they can achieve a lot if they believe in themselves.

SEMrush. It is comprehensive, well-rounded insights, SEO, and a marketing tool that has all the features needed to actually grow my website traffic consistently. Highly recommend it for beginners.
THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE I HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN IS…
You don’t have to be the best in the field to put your content, brand, and yourself out there. You just have to remember that you have a lot to offer, and someone out there needs it. So you show up for them, not for yourself.
